Radar Ridge Wind Project
Pacific County, Washington
-
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Radar Ridge Wind Project LLC (Radar Ridge LLC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Energy Northwest, submitted a request to Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) to interconnect up to 82 megawatts of power generated from their proposed Radar Ridge Wind Energy Project located in Pacific County, Washington into the Federal Columbia River Transmission System.
The proposed Wind Project site was located within the range of the marbled murrelet, a species listed as threatened under the Endangered Species Act. Consequently, Radar Ridge LLC prepared a habitat conservation plan in support of an application for a permit from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) to incidentally take the marbled murrelet in conjunction with the construction, operation, maintenance, and decommissioning of the Wind Project. The USFWS was the lead agency for preparation of the permit and an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), and BPA served as a cooperating agency under the National Environmental Policy Act.
-
CURRENT STATUS:
Radar Ridge LLC withdrew their request (#G0288) from the BPA generation interconnection queue in December 2011, and work on the USFWS EIS was stopped prior to release of the draft EIS.
