About Environment, Fish & Wildlife
The Environment, Fish and Wildlife Group is responsible for managing the environmental component of Bonneville?s transmission and power sales businesses. This includes the planning, policy development, and implementation of policies and strategies for environmental and fish and wildlife issues as they affect Bonneville?s responsibilities and its commitment to the integrity of the region?s environmental, natural, and cultural resources.
The Group ensures that all Bonneville business functions such as policies, programs, and initiatives are carried out in accordance with established environmental laws, rules, and legal mandates (e.g., National Environmental Policy Act, Clean Water Act, National Historic Preservation Act, Endangered Species Act, Northwest Power Act, and appropriate State and local regulations and requirements), and prudent business practices.
The Group develops and maintains continuing relationships with other Federal agencies, Indian Tribes, State and local governments, privately and publicly owned utilities, major manufacturers, professional groups, research and development organizations, Congressional delegations and committees, natural resource groups, and the public to achieve regional environmental coordination of agency activities.
